As you already know, it’s been a great year for Eagle’s Wings. We completed Phase II construction and are well on the way to a record year in the number of retreats and total number of participants. Demand continues to grow requiring additional facilities to address the increased need and requests by larger groups. What you may not be fully aware of is the fact that we completed Phase II under budget with a savings of $150,000 that has been rolled into Phase III. We also have received challenge donations of $50,000 and $100,000. This brings our current total to over $300,000. We are pursuing other opportunities for specific grants and gifts. According to our projected budget, we are within $500,000 of our goal because of these efforts.
Phase III includes the addition of a Chapel, two more dormitories, and a recreation center including a pool and covered sports pavilion. Our plans are to build this phase of GOD’s Retreat Center one brick at a time. We plan on doing that by selling memorial bricks. Every brick purchased will bring us closer to starting construction on the much needed Phase III. Friends of Eagle’s Wings purchasing 2700 special “name” bricks will provide the additional funds we need to build Phase III.
A memorial sidewalk or patio area will be paved with “name” bricks bearing witness to the lives of your loved ones and providing a daily inspiration to everyone who visits EWRC. Bricks may—
• be in memory of a parent, spouse, child, or special friend.
• pay tribute to someone to whom you want to say, “You will always be remembered.”
• commemorate special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc.
• honor someone who has made a significant impression on you during your life.
The goal is for Eagle’s Wings Retreat Center to continue to touch lives and bring people closer to Christ. Each of you has the opportunity to help in this endeavor by purchasing one or several bricks. Young people today are just as hungry for Good News as we are.
